Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Court Hearing

A friend was stopped for a DWI and did not attend the Court Hearing. That was 27 years ago. What are the consequences? Can he apply for Section 8 Housing? Would he be arrested if he did? Would he pay a fine? Thank you for answering this question.

I would have someone check to see if his name is linked to a warrant or outstanding and unresolved criminal mater, first.

Most likely a warrant issued for his arrest and the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles revoked his license or right to operate in MA which may have reciprocal effect in other states as well.
