Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Domestic Violence

I am writing in regards a case of Domestic violence it took place in MA this is the 5th time that the wife has called the cops in regards of him hitting her and now she once again wants to drop the charges with her husbands brother agreeing that he will take full responsibility of his actions and that he is not allowed to get near her or have any contact with her she wants this paper notified and sign by his brother and herself, the DA doesnt want to agree with her and they have evidence this time of him hitting her they have pictures of her bruises he was charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon they have a police baton which he used to hit her so those that means that they can go forward with this case with out her? And if she decides not to show up in court that day would she be charged or what can possibly happen? If she says she dont want to continue with the charges in front of the judge and she wants to drop all charges will they drop all charges or what will happen? because he also had 6 month probation do to driving with a suspended license. What will happen? would a lawyer be able to get him out with probation or paroll?
