wrongful demotion

my job demoted me six months after the fact, because they said that i was taking too much time off, when i filled out the fmla paper, they i had even wrote it on my time card. and then six months later they demoted me for ''job performance'' nothing major with no verbal or written warnings. is that o.k. they knew.

If the demotion was in response to your FMLA leave, then it is illegal. It is difficult to tell from what you posted as to the detail of the facts of your situation.

If you feel as if you have been retaliated against for the exercise of some right, or if you feel as if some right has been denied to you (i.e., the right to take leave), then you should consult with an attorney to go over your situation.
