Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

My gym contract says that in order to cancel you have to get a doctors note saying you are permanately disabled. I got a doctors note prior to this stating that medically I cannot continue there at the gym but they keep saying that because it does not state that I am permanately disabled they cannot cancel my membership. This is crazy! How can you refute a doctors reccomendation that makes no sense. What are my options here, they refuse to cancel and it has been a 3 month battle and every time I block them from my bank account they somehow take the money for the month PLUS attach a 29$ fee for bouncing them out initially.

Thanks
