Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

Driving license for wife

Hello,

Can you, please, answer my question?

I am H1B visa holder since 2003. My first 3 year term expired in may, 2005.

My wife who lived me,had to leave the USA to visit her parentso on march 2005. She returned back in USA in April 2005.

The visa she got in embassy was until May 2005 when my first 3 year term was supposed to expire.

In May 2005 we got an H1B extention; Now in january 2006 she has to renew her driving license. And even though we are legally in the USA, the motor vihecle registry's clirks refuses us to renew her license on the base of expired Visa in her passport..

How can we persuade them that we are legally in USA on legal status and make them to renew my wife's driving license, as without it, it is VERY hard to live in the USA...

thank you for your advice,

alexey

Re: Driving license for wife

You can make an infopass appointment at your local INS office and get your wife's passport stamped by taking along the renewal notice. The appointment can be made online at USCIS website.
