Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

A friend of mine had lived in the U.S.A since he was 11. He came here with his whole family. He is 20 now and was driving without a license and got caught. He went to school here and never had any criminal record here. He is a very good kid, and now they are sending him back to his country. I want to know if there is anyway he could stay since he was never a criminal here. Also when can he return to the U.S?

You need to advise him to consult with an immigration attorney for a possible defense to his removal proceedings. For a free consultation, please have him call me at 904-371-3538 or email me at [email protected].

He may have a few options, but not many. If he has a reason to fear returning to his home country, he may be aple to file for asylum or Convention Against Torture Benefits. If he has family in the US that has status (his parents or children), he may be able to establish a hardship. He will need to go in to an immigration attorney for a consultation and fully review his options. He may want to consult with more than one attorney before deciding what direction he wants to take.
