Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

H1B marrying a Citizen

Hi. I am a citizen and my fiance has a H1B visa. Do we have to have a lawyer to process his status change or can we fill out the paperwork ourselves? If so, what paperwork and where can we find it? Thanks!

Hi,

I'm an attorney and although I'd love to have your business the truth is that you CAN actually file yourself. With that said, I always tell my clients that I could probably change my own transmission but if one thing goes wrong then I'm going to have major problems. Same with doing your own immigration paperwork. It really depends on how risk-averse you are. If you contact my office I can give you a consultation in which you'll know every step that goes into the process and then you can make a fully educated decision on whether you want an attorney or not.
