Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Massachusetts
Hello. I would like to publish an ebook that incorporates scientific research contained in other books and published studies. I am worried about violating copyrights. What must I do to be able to use these authors' work while complying with copyright law?

Facts are not protected by copyright, nor are ideas. If you analyze the research by others and summarize their work in your own words, then there is no violation of copyright. Moreover, you can quote their work for scholarly commentary (which is one of the fair-use exceptions to copyright).
