Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

May be fired for informing coworkers of level 3 sex offender

I have been with my employer for 20 years...Recently I found out that one of our workers was a 4 time convicted sex offender. All rape convictions...I then e-mailed 5 of my coworkers with his picture and info from the state of MA. regitry web page...The general manager at my company is considering firing me for doing this,, saying that only he should have been notified..I believe this will be a wrongfull termination if it does happen..I have always been on great terms with my manager, and have been a model employee...Please let me know your thoughts A.S.A.P......Thank you

This would be a good case for wrongful termination. The most your general manager could fairly object to is the use of a company computer for the e-mail, however, the immediate safety issues would probably override. Please contact me if you wish to discuss the case in further detail.
