getting fired for being pregnant

I was fired for being pregnant. They said it was attendance,but I was not written up by the code in the employee handbook,nor was I put through the dicipline steps.My supervisor also said he heard I was going to need more time off and took care of it

To state the obvious terminating an employee because she is pregnant is unlawful. Proving discrimination however is not so easy. Unless you have a "smoking gun" i.e. statements by the decision maker evidencing discriminatory intent, proving discrimination is difficult. You must show that the so called legitimate business reason given by the employer for the termination action is a pretext for unlawful discrimination. One way to do so is to prove that you were treated differently than other employees with the same attendance issues.
