Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Fmla act

If I have not been employed for 1 year and have to have surgery does my employer still have to share in the cost of benfits ? Is there anything that I can fall under? My employer is telling me I will have to pay my full premium for medical which is over $1000 mth. I need to have surgery and I am unsure how long I can postpone it. I am only 3 weeks shy of being with this company a year. Is there anything that I can do?
