Can a hourly employee not be paid and required to work repairing a job because he or she had worked on that job previously. Example i work for a bath remodeling co. I get paid hourly the customer called and needs a repair the employer wants that i do it for free is this right. Plus they also the employer wants to charge us back for materials.

Most likely not. You must be paid at least minimum wage for the hours you work.

Also, deductions for those types of materials are not permitted from an employee's paycheck if it reduces the pay below minimum wage. Minimum wage is now $7.50/hour in MA. Figure out how many hours you work in a week. Multiply it by $7.50, and if that number is more than your actual pay less the deductions, the employer is violating the Wage Act.

In any case, you should call the Massachusetts Attorney General and discuss filing a wage complaint with them.
