Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
I agreed to rent an apartment from a couple i know for 400 dollars a month. I asked if we could pick out my own paint and they agreed as the house was in complete repair. I painted the bedroom, and helped them paint 2 rooms in their own house. 3 months later the wife, who is the landlord as her name is on the house, decided to up the rent to 600 dollars a month, I couldnt afford that and declined, now I asked her to compensate me for the paint that I bought for their apartment and she vehemently declined. What can i do?
