Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Hello,respected every lawyer,

I got a accident Yesterday afternoon. when I was driving on a narrow street at north

direction,(that street is not one way) another car was driving at south direction. Because

street is narrow,I drove my car to stop right side space to let other car to pass.

when other car just passed my car,he suddenly drove his car to go back and try to park his car on the left side space. When he did parallel parking, the front driver side of his car

hit my car driver side rear bumpper. After accident happened, He told me he would pay me

for my car damage and don't call his insurance company. Because my English is not good.

I said I must call police to take evidence and I called police. During the accident happened

there are two people were siting the front deck of the house, in order to get witness,I talked to them, and asked them if they will be my witness, one of them said he only saw that car hit your car, he did not see previous what happened. Then this guy walk to the other driver and talked to him a short time and shaked hands each other, after they talked,

I asked that driver again if you would pay me for my car damage, he changed his idea and

don't want to pay. Right now I worried if they knew each other before and cheat police

and I told police what the accident happened truthfully, police told me what he said is

different from what I said? Right now I am very worry,Could you give me some advice

to protect myself.

PS,(I,other driver and the witness are living at same street. but the witness is living very close to that driver.)

You should file an accident report with the police department where the accident occurred. The report should accurately state what happened. You should also immediately report the accident to your insurance company if the damage is over your deductible.
