Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Social Security released confidential information to EX

Social Security Admin. released confidential information to my EX-wife about my disability claim and amount I receive, after I was assured that the only info. she would get would be related to the amount my son would recieve each month. She then called my present wife and bragged about having this info on my answering machine. Now, she wants not only the benefits for my son,but also for me to pay court ordered child support ect on top of it. I have 4 children and only 2 of them(not with me) are getting benefits. Please advise.

Re: Social Security released confidential information to EX

I cannot advise you as to any potential action against the Social Security Administration regarding their release of information to your ex-wife. However, with respect to her threats regarding child support, although Maine statute specifically treats Disability income as part of gross income for child support calculations, it is rarely enough income in relation to your basic support needs to justify a large child support award, or to justify an increase over your current determined payment.
