Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Breaking a real estate contract with your agent.

Is there a period of time in which I may cancel my contract with a real

estate agent without penalty? It has been less than one week, no offers

have been made on my home, and I am having cold feet! I may not want

to sell my home anymore.

Hello & Thanks for Writing -

The listing agreement should allow you to withdraw in the event that you no longer wish to sell your home, just so long as you don't go with another agent during the listing period.

If you're experiencing problems with your agent, or if you are in need of legal representation, please feel free to contact me directly. My name is Len Foy and I am an experienced real estate attorney practicing in New Hampshire & Massachusetts.
