Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

Speeding - Driving to Endanger

I was traveling on a state highway lastnight at spped limit when my boyfriend in the car behind me sped up to go around me. He used his directional but apparently there ws a off duty officer traveling a couple cars behind us and didn't like what he saw and called the state police in. I noticed a cop following us for about 4 miles but he didn't do anything. We then approached another state trooper ahead who was waiting on the side of the highway. Both cruisers then decided to pull both me and my boyfriends vehicle over and write up a citation for speeding at speeds of 100mph in a 65mph zone and changing lanes with no signal. Both cops in the cruisers are just going by word of the off duty cop drving behind us. It was completely blown out of proportion. I defintely didn't travel at a speed higher than the posted speed limited. How can they do this?? They also were yelling and screaming at me and told me I would be arrested if I didn't provide them with information like my phone # or my mother maiden and fathers full name. Why would they need that information?
