Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

towing and storage fee

My car was towed after receiving parking tickets that amoutn to about $3000 in the town of Somerville, MA. I was eventually able to have a hearing for my parking tickets at the town parking office and had all but four tickets thrown out ($210 total that I am responsible for). I am trying to get my car back from the garage that towed it (the town contracts a private business to do their towing). Am I still legally responsible for the towing and storage fees accumulated on my car considering the fact that $2800 worth of the tickets should never have been issued?

Re: towing and storage fee

The tow company must be paid by you. Whether or not you are entitled to be reimbursed by the city for any or all of what you have to pay depends on whether the $210 legitimate tickets would have required the tow, and or the circumstances that did require the tow. Consider retaining an attorney if the amount warrants it. Good Luck!
