Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Michigan

no emp.due to denied motion to set aside poss.of marijuana in 97.

I canot secure employment.I canot clear a b/g check, motion to set aside (exspungment) denied in 2004,How and will I ever get past this?.Can I try again to get this exspungde from my record? Mine and my childs livelyhood depends on this. I am a Student @ Wayne County Community College. How will I ever find emloyment w/ a degree when I can't without please HELP

You have to wait 5 years before a court has authority to set aside a conviction. Since 5 years have past, I think that perhaps you had more than one conviction at the time. A court cannot do an expungment if you had more than one conviction. Just curious, how did you wind up with a conviction? Did you have any priors? Did you go in with a lawyer?
