Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

chapter 13 - tax refund....

I'm in a chapter 13 for about a year. i was told that i would have to give them my tax refund . 100%. I've been paying monthly so why would i have to surrender my taxes. I would also like to get out of the chapter 13. I only have my car in the chap. 13. can i talk to the car company and see if i can make arrangements to start paying them instead of staying in the chapter 13. It's not helping me out in the long run.. Please help

Re: chapter 13 - tax refund....

I assume you have a Chapter 13 attorney. If so, you should be directing your questions to your attorney.

You have to submit your tax refunds because that is what the bankruptcy code requires. Your other questions should be directed to an attorney who can have a face-to-face conversation with you and review your documents. My fee is $200/hr.
