tape recording phone calls specifics

if I am recording a phone call...

and I am in michigan does the other party have to be in michigan?

like I belive michigan to michigan it's legal but WHAT IF THEY ARE from ohio? or california? THEY CALLED ME... so dont it go by the legally laws of MICHIGAN and myself? just wondering since I need to phone call some CRIMINAL CORPERATIONS in thier dirty work and well I dont wish to get in trouble for any legal stuff in recording the phone calls... is it just that easy if you are in michigan and you are on the phone with someone else who calls you... that you can record them? or do I need to find out what state? and tell them I am? etc... and can you site the case law if possible.. thank you... for up and coming class action lawsuite... I am forming with other attorneys thanks
