Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Authorized User

I am the primary card holder on several credit card accounts that have gone into collection. They are trying to go after my husband who is only an ''authorized user'' on those accounts for balance due. Legally can they do that? And can it affect his credit?

Re: Authorized User

If, in fact, your husband is only an authorized user, and not a co-applicant or co-owner of the account, he should not be liable for the credit card balance.
