Re: garnishment

Your pension money can be garnished if you deposit into your bank account, and your bank account is garnished. Your social security cannot be garnished from any source, including your bank account. However, if you co-mingle money in your bank account, there is a possibility that both your pension and social security deposits will be garnished.

Bottom line is that only SS can be safely deposited into a bank account where there is a chance of a bank garnishment.
