Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

My husband loaned $30,000. to a couple in 2005. They agreed to repay him within a year. They signed a promisary note which was noterized. They did not pay any of the money back. My husband died about a year ago. Can I legally get this money? If so, how would I go about doing that?

Thank you,
