Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

summons and complaint

has been served i want to pay the debt off by the answer response 21day deadline do i call the attorney c/o of cc co. listed on the complaint or the 1800# that calls my house?? they are the same attorney's company, but the 1800 is out of state and the attorney is in MI.

You should still respond to the Complaint with an Answer denying responsibility for the debt. Once the Answer is timely filed, then you may begin discussions with the company's attorney to settle the matter. The ante may have increased since an attorney was hired and there are costs to file the complaint and serve you.

Go to the State Bar of Michigan website to find the attorney's local number.
