daughters ticket

my daughter who is 16 got a ticket for consumption of alcohol by a minor the level was .02 she was at a school dance do i need a attorney

does this go on her driving record

any advice or infomation would be greatly appreaciated

If she's convicted as charged, it will go on her record, but there won't be any driving restriction (that's for when she does it again).

No jail time for the first offense, but she may get jail time if she violates probation (she'll get 6-12 months probation if convicted).

Since she only blew .02, she may get a better break(the above is the maximum penalty plus $100 fine and up to $600 costs.)

An attorney can help to get the minimum penalty and keep the result off her record.

In the previous post, I neglected to address the fact that your daughter is a juvenile. You'll get a Ietter from the probate court setting a pretrial hearing before a referee. If your letter states that your daughter is eligible for the consent docket, you probably don't need a lawyer if consent is granted.
