child support

i am a mother of a five month old baby. i was intensive care for one month before delivery and my baby was born 2and a hlf months early. we both faught for our lives. the father has remarried and has nothing to do with the both of us. he became very dangerous when he found out i was keeping my son. i am 40 years old and i am making it on my own. i have medical bills that are very huge. most covered by blue cross. still the expence is huge. my question is ..if i went for chid support would he have the right to see my son. he has not offered anything and now calls and said he wants to see what he looks like but does not want to tell his wife or his mother who has no children wife of mother who has no grandchildren. he has a great job with the top 3 corp. and lives only 5 miles away. what do i do? im scared he would be able to see him and i fear.

Re: child support

Child support and visitation are 2 completely unrelated issues. If he asks the court to order visitation, the court might do that if there wasn't a reason to refrain from visitation. Likewise, if you ask for child support, the court must order him to pay support.
