Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

custody battle question

my ex-wife is going to trial for embezzlement and I have filed for full custody during her jail time and I received a letter in the mail from her attorney requesting our mediator be switched. Why would this be? Why would her attorney feel the need to have a different mediator?

Re: custody battle question

several reason - maybe he knows him personally - or there is some kind of conflict. i wouldn't worry about it - if he has a legitimate reason for asking, it will be switched. honestly, it shouldn't affect the decision - you should still get the kids while the wife is in jail, unless there is a reason you aren't qualified.

you can always call the attorney or have your attorney call him and asked why he wants the mediator switched. see what he says.
