Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Custody Rights

My fiance finalized a divorce 3-4 years ago. He has two minor children. His divorce decrees specifies that his home is the legal residence for the minor children. It was agreed that neither he or his ex could move more than 100 miles from this residence. His ex dropped a plan that her new husbands job maybe relocating him to Grand Rapids which is about 190 miles away. Because they both have legal shared custody and his residence is their legal address can she do this?

Re: Custody Rights

She cannot make the move without a court order. She will have to petition the judge. In order to fight this, if I were your husband, I'd utilize a vocational counselor who can determine his job skills and testify as to the numbers of such jobs in certain areas. Such vocational testimony is not prohibitively expensive. William S. Stern
