Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

parent facilitators

I have a case in Oakland County, I am the mother of a 15 year old daughter who thought she wanted to live with her father. We have Joint-Joint with a parenting agreement to be decided by a court appointed facilitator. My daughter wanted to see me and when the facilitator tried to set it up, the father refused. I have been evaluated (not court order - voluntarily because of false accusations) by a physcologist in the facilitator's office (One of the managing partners). Long story short, my daughter still believes the courts won't allow her to see me and is afraid that her dad will get in trouble. I sent documents to Friend of the court verifying her conversations with me. The parent coordinator needs the valuation report inorder to recommend parenting time. The phsycologist didn't want this evaluation to involve my health insurance company because of PPO restrictions (the insurance co reimbursed me his entire fee and is investigating the practice for violating their PPO agreement). Because he feels the insurance company harrased him, he won't release the report until I sign a document that I will not pursue any legal action against him and that he is held harmless. I just want to see my daughter, can anybody help?!

Re: parent facilitators

You have one of those nightmare cases that would require an incredible amount of time and energy to get into at this late point. You failed to mention whether you already have a lawyer. Does the husband have a lawyer? If so, what county are you in? If Wayne, Oakland or Macomb, I might know the players. If you do not have a lawyer, why not? The only solution for you is to get a competent, hard working lawyer on your side and always be straight with your lawyer. If you already have a good lawyer, why are you on Lawguru? William S. Stern

Re: parent facilitators

I re-read your question and saw that you have an Oakland County case. I also need to know who the parent coordinator is and who the psychologist is. William S. Stern
