Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

grandparents rights in michigan

Would like to know my rights as a grandparent, and how would I represent myself in court to see my grandchildren on a regular basis, My son is not in a position to help me, He has a felony warrant pending and the mother or I don't communicate with him. They were not married, I have seen the boys recently, but would like to establish a schedule that would be benificial to my grandchildren and set a stable relationship with them.

Michigan has only limited grandparent rights. The best way to learn the law is to attend law school. If you don't feel like doing that but you still want to represent yourself in court, go to the law library and read up on grandparent rights.

On a more practical basis, hire an experienced family law attorney to advise you.
