CPS and Friend of the Court may have a problem with having your son in close proximity to a registered sex offender, regardless of your relationship with the registered individual and whether it is in the same apartment or in a duplex. Your child's mother can bring a motion to change parenting time with the Friend of the Court if she feels your son is in danger. CPS may get involved if danger is alleged/suspected, but this will not immediately impact your parenting time without Friend of the Court also reviewing your case. Your father may also be in violation and face criminal penalty.
