dad died,im only son

my name is ron,my dad retierd may 5 he died may 6.i have a stepmom and a stepsister who have been in control of my dad.my dad devorced my real mom when i was 6 months old,i do not know my real mom.i need to know what my leagal statis is as far as knowing what my dad has and what i am intiteled to...is someone hiding some thing...my dad had alot cominmg to him...life and 401k please help me

Your dad's will will govern the dispersal of his assets. You need to determine who the personal representative of his estate is and request a copy of the will. Has your stepmom started the probate process? You probably should check with the probate court in the county in which your dad resides. Finally, if this cannot be handled amicably you should contact a lawyer in the community you live in.
