Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

possesion of sold item

We sold an old truck to a friend's fiance. Before we sold it, my husband and I told them that paying for the truck was only half the deal, getting the truck out of our yard was the other half. We didnt want it sitting there any more. Needless to say, its been there about 3 months and he keeps saying he will come get it and doesnt. they are basically using us for storage. What are our legal rights here. I signed off on the title and I'm pretty sure he hasnt got the truck in his name yet, but still holds the title. Can we legally have this truck hauled away for scrap?

Re: possesion of sold item

Provide him written notice, sent certified mail with return receipt requested (the green card), notifying him that he has 10 days to get the car out of your yard, or you will have it reported as abandoned and have it removed and then sue him for the cost of removal. If you want me to send the letter on my letterhead, so that it gives him the kick in the butt he needs, let me know and/or email me the info. No charge.

Thanks and good luck.
