Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

We were sued for a bad debt in 2009 since the the collection agency went bankrupt so the account was given to another law firm. They are sueing us again for the same account we have a pretrial 2-15-2011. this will probably add more court cost and fees to the account . they added about $1500 in intersst and fees last time .

Our debt settlement co. is trying to negociate a settlement with them now.

The judge granted judgement in 2009.

IS IT LEGAL TO BE SUED FOR THE SAME THING A SECOND TIME?

No it is not. I assume you can prove the debt was settled the first time and this can be used to resolve your new case. Kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz.
