Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan

No- Fault Automobile Insurance

Can an attorney represent his (The drunk driver's) insurance (Farmers) And at the same time represent my insurance (Farm Bureau) to fight my claim? I was rear ended by this guy and he even admits fault! I was already disabled, I ended up with afew more bulging discs, Broke my nose again! Prior to this accident I kept house while my wife worked. Now my wife has to do it all herself. Today I walk with a cane, wear a ''Jewett'' Back brace,and can't drive. I tell you this to give alittle back ground so that it would be easier to answer my next question. Can my attorney ask for a Directed Verdict? And would we get it if he did? It sounds like you are represented by an attorney of your own in this matter, and you should initially be asking him or her these questions.

I would need to know more facts with respect to your question about one attorney representing both insurance companies. If "your" insurance company is actually defending an under-insurance claim which you have brought, it may be permissible but unusual for the attorney to represent both carriers, as in that circumstance they are both adverse to your making a recovery. On the other hand, one attorney obviously cannot represent both you and the driver that caused your injuries.
