Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Michigan

I got a letter from the lawyers representing the Hurt Locker law suit.They want $2900 before a certain date or $3900 if not paid by that date to settle out of court.If not paid at all,they MAY take me to court.I am accused of downloading the movie the hurt locker.Do I need a lawyer?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Whenever you get an attorney letter demanding money, you need a lawyer. Unless you just want to fork over $2,900 or $3,900. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
