Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
We had an individual living with us for a few years. Last week he stole some money from us and I kicked him out. He is now trying to cause a lot of problems, most of which are empty threats that he can not back up. What are the laws however for keeping somebody like this off your property. Do I need to serve an eviction notice? We have no contractual agreement. In the years that he stayed with us, he paid NO rent or payment of any kind. He has a new place to live and has gotten all of his things from our residence. His drivers license however, has our address, does he have a right to come here against our wishes?
