Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

removing a boyfriend from my home

I am in my sixtes and have been living my a boyfriend for 2.5 years. He has problems such as OCD and paranoid personality disorder. And refuses to get help. He accuses me of having sex with almost everyone. I rent rooms in my home to pay the mtg (to wine interns from other counries) 22 to 30 yrs old and he accuses me of sleeping with them. He screams at me, destroys my things calls me vulgar names. He never hits me. After about 5 days of silence he is back to his normal self. Kind, helpful, very nice to me. My health is not very good because of diabetes and kidney disease and the stress is getting too much for me. He has never paid any rent, utilities or food. He is a cop and said he doesn't have to move unless evicted. Yes I was very much in love with him and am now just plain stupid. How else can I get him out. I have to work till I'm about 70 yrs old because I have very little money. You would never guess in a million years if you met him what underneath brings. He is goodlooking, charming, doesn't drink or smoke, religious, adored his parents. has all the great qualities a woman would want. All kinds of people have said I am so lucky to have found such a nice man. Right!!!! Can you offer me any guidance.

Re: removing a boyfriend from my home

If you want him out, you will have to evict him, sending him a 30-day notice to quit and then going to court about 10 days later for the order of eviction. Whether or not you can or should evict him and how nice or not nice he is has nothing to do with your legal right to force him leave your home through the eviction process. It sounds to me like you could use someone to talk to such as a psychologist/therapist to deal with the emotional issues concerning your relationship with this man.

Good luck.
