Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

A band and I signed a management contract where they were to pay me $250/month. They did not pay anything for the first year. We re-signed another 1 year contract where they were supposed to pay me but never did. They used to practice at my house and just stopped returning calls or messages. 4 months later, they showed up at my house demanding their gear but I want to be paid so I didn't give it to them telling them I want to consult an attorney. I have been threatened and harassed since then. Do I have to return their gear to do I have a case with the signed contracts?

Contact us for a free consultation need a little more detail. This sounds like an implied bailment, but it might turn on the language in your agreement. At the very least you might give them notice/receipt that your $250.00 per month was for warehousing their stuff and assert a claim that way, a reasonable "warehousing fee" there is a statute on it. 877 887 9562
