i've been taking care of a strip of land i thought was mine for 15 years, now the city says it is theirs and making me move my fence,and to dig up my flowers ,plants, and trees,so they can expand their parking lot. do i have any legal rights to the land or any rights to compensation for taking care of the land for the past 15 years?

Adverse possession may make the property yours, but it may not apply when the other property owner is a municipality. You may want to consult an attorney for a more definitive answer. Your attorney may file a complaint to quiet title in your favor.
