Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

selling property when one owner won't!!!

i own a lot in michigan with my brother. we purchased it around ten years ago, i want to sell it because our lives have changed and were not going to build on it, we split taxes every year. he said he doesnt want to sell, legally do i have any rights to have him buy my half out or to force him to put it up for sale? it doesnt seem right that he can say no and thats the end of story. any input would be appreciated!

This is called a partition suit. You will have to file the partition suit in the state and county that the property is located.
