Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Intestate relatives and life insurace claims

My sister recently died intestate in the state of Michigan. It is my understanding that she left a signifcant debt behind. I have received a check as the beneficiary of her life insurance. Would her creditors have any claim against that payout?
