What legal rights does grandchildren have if my grandmother passes away and the only living relative is her daughter and three grandchildren from her deceased son??

The children of the deceased son have a right to notice of the proceedings. Many wills provide that the children (or issue) of the deceased beneficiary will recieve the deceased child's share of the inheritence. If there is no will, the law allows for same.
