Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

My boyfriend and I were at a club together in Mapewood,Minnesota. We got into a little argument and he decided to leave the club so I followed him, when I walked out I contiued following him trying to get him back inside the club, but he refused to listen and contiuned walking towards his car, we were about 2 blocks away from the club already when I grabbed him by the shoulder, and thats when he shoved my hands away. There happened to be two cops near the front of the club where we had exit from, and saw what had happened and thought that my boyfreind had slapped me,and came over to us and started accusing my boyfreind of slapping me, and arrested him. When the officer spoke to me and asked me if he had hit me, I already had said no, but he refused to listen then started making curel statements about my boyfreind and our realtionship. His pre-trail is this thursday. And I just want to know if there is anything that I can do to help him, because he did not hit me.My boyfreind is being accused for something that did not happen. What are the chances of winning? I know that he hired a lawyer already, because his lawyer called me wanting to know my side of the story. But even with that what are the chances of winning this case? And is there any way that this case can be dismissed. And after the pre-trail if he pleas not guily what happens then, will he have to be kept in jail for his next hearing?
