Multiple accountants have told me that it is against the law to work without a social security number. But I have heard from other people that there is no law that forces a person to have a social security number.
Can anyone tell me where I can find the law that every person must have a social security number to work ? I know illegal immigrants may get in to trouble but never heard of one being convicted of not having a SSAN. Please help me get the facts
Hello. Your question is too vague for a response. Since you have conferred with 'multiple accounts', I presume you have substantive financial issues at stake. I urge you privately to seek attorney counsel regarding your needs. All the best. Tricia Dwyer, Esq. 612-296-9666
You must report wages earned through your social security number. Not doing so is considered unlawful despite the beliefs of certain fringe "freemen" and "Posse Comitatus" groups.
