Re: child support

Under Minnesota law, it is your burden to bring a motion before the Court to modify child support when your financial situation changes. Child support is never automatically decreased because you situation changes. It requires and act. Moreover, child support cannot be retroactively modified. As a direct result, it is imperative that you bring a motion to reduce you child support immediately.

In order to avoid the loss of you driver;s license, it is only necessary that you make payment arrangements on your child support and your child support arrearage. You may make such arrangements as part of a motion to modify child support and may even seek a stay of the suspension until the hearing can be held.
