Divorce

I have been married to a guy for 15 years. I have not seen or heard from him in 14 years. I would like to get a divorce by placing an ad in the paper. We have no children together. I know what town he is living in. I am a mother of three and have a tight income. I need help getteing a divorce for extremely cheap if not for free. I know wishful thinking. Please help.

Forms are available on the Minnesota Supreme Court website that can help you with this. You will need to download the divorce without children packet, and then you will need to fill out a form for an application for service by alternate means (to serve him by mail at an address that you think might get notice to him) or service by publication. You can then call the courthouse and they can tell you how to get a judge to sign the order for publication/service by alternate means. Good luck!
