Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Grandparents rights?

I am needing any information I can get on grandparents rights in Minnesota. Did a law pass that grandparents do not have the same rights as they used to? I am talking about visitation rights. Thank you in advance =)

Re: Grandparents rights?

Under Minnesota Statutes 518.175, subd. 4, granparents have been given rights to seek visitation.

You may access the statute from our web page located at http://www.divorceprofessionals.com

The link to Minnesota statutes is half way down the page.

If you go to the links section on my web site and click on "Minnesota Legislature," on that page there is a link to the Minnesota Statutes. Take a look at Section 257.022. It was most recently revised in 1998. It appears that not only have grandparent visitation rights not been reduced, but they now extend into situations where the child has been adopted and the former grandparent relationship has been eliminated by the adoption.
