Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Hello,

My question is, I have a child custody case in Wisconsin but I have moved to Minnesota. Can I have an attorney from MN or do I need to find representation in Wis?

Hello. You should ask your present WI attorney but you would be wise to confer with a MN licensed attorney as well. Attorneys are licensed by state.

If your custody case originated in Wisconsin, that Court retains jurisdiction. If neither party resides in the County, you may file a Motion to change venue.
